Ten methods of Sollant air compressor maintenance

1. The air compressor cannot be started:

(1) There is no mains or control voltage.

(2) Check the power supply and check the control circuit fuse.

(3) Check the control voltage of the transformer secondary coil.

(4) The star/delta connection timer is damaged, replace the star/delta connection timer.

2. Periodic shutdown:

(1) The exhaust temperature of the main engine is high. Top up the coolant.

(2) The motor is overloaded. Set the overload to the correct value and switch to manual reset.

(3) Line voltage fluctuation is out of range. Make sure that the voltage drop does not exceed 10% when starting, and the voltage does not exceed 6% when running.

3. The current is too high:

(1) The air compressor is operating beyond the rated pressure. Set the pressure of the machine to the correct rating.

(2) The separator core is contaminated. Replace air filter and separator element.

(3) Low voltage. Make sure that the voltage drop does not exceed 10% when starting, and the voltage does not exceed 6% when running.

(4) Voltage instability. Correct the supply voltage.

(5) The host is damaged. Change host.

(6) The compressed air filter is contaminated. Replace air filter.

4. The current is too low:

(1) The air filter is contaminated. Replace air filter.

(2) The air compressor is running under no load. Set the pressure of the machine to the correct rating.

(3) High voltage. Step down the field voltage to the correct operating voltage.

(4) The intake valve is malfunctioning. Replace intake valve.

5. High discharge pressure:

(1) The pressure switch is faulty or the pressure switch is set incorrectly. Replace the pressure switch or set the pressure of the machine to the correct rating.

(2) The function of the blowing valve is malfunctioning. Replace blower valve.

(3) The intake valve is malfunctioning. Replace intake valve.

6. Low system pressure:

(1) The separator core is contaminated. Install new separator core.

(2) The pressure switch is set incorrectly. Set the pressure of the machine to the correct rating.

(3) The minimum pressure valve is malfunctioning. Replace the minimum pressure valve.

(4) The function of the blowing valve is malfunctioning. Replace blower valve.

(5) The drive belt slips. Put on a new belt.

(6) Air system leaks. Repair the leak.

(7) The intake valve is malfunctioning. Replace intake valve.

(8) The compressed air filter is contaminated. Replace air filter element.

(9) The air demand of the system exceeds the supply of the air compressor. Reduce the gas requirement or install an air compressor.

7. The air compressor shuts down due to excessive temperature:

(1) The air compressor is operating beyond the rated pressure. Set the pressure of the machine to the correct rating.

(2) The pre-filter of the unit is blocked. Clean or replace the unit pre-filter.

(3) The cooler is blocked. Clean the cooler.

(4) The fuselage shield is incorrectly installed or missing. Make sure the fuselage shield is installed correctly.

8. Insufficient coolant:

(1) Add coolant and check for leaks.

(2) The ambient temperature is high. Move the air compressor to another location.

(3) The cooling air flow is blocked. Make sure the air compressor has the correct airflow.

(4) Excessive coolant consumption and separator core leakage. Install new separator core

(5) The discharge of the separator core is blocked. Remove parts and wipe clean.

(6) The air compressor is operating below the rated pressure. Set the pressure of the machine to the correct rating.

(7) Coolant system consumption. Repair the leak.

9. Excessive noise:

(1) Air system leaks. Repair the leak.

(2) The host is faulty. Change host.

(3) The motor is faulty. Replace the motor.

(4) Parts are loose. Retighten loose parts.

(5) The shaft seal leaks and the shaft seal is defective. Install the main engine shaft seal box.

(6) The pressure relief safety valve is opened, the pressure switch is faulty or the pressure sensor setting is incorrect. Replace the pressure switch, or set the machine’s pressure to the correct rating.

(7) The minimum pressure valve is malfunctioning. Replace the minimum pressure valve.

(8) The function of the blowing valve is malfunctioning. Replace blower valve.

(9) The intake valve is malfunctioning. Replace intake valve.

(10) The decompression safety valve fails. Check the setting and pressure rating of the pressure relief valve.

10. When the air compressor starts to load, the safety valve blows:

(1) The minimum pressure valve is stuck and closed. Remove the minimum pressure valve for inspection and repair if necessary.

(2)Safety valve function. Check setting and pressure rating of relief valve.
