Air compressor classification
Classification of air compressors:
According to the principle, it is divided into:
1. Speed type;
2. Volumetric type; volumetric type is divided into rotary type and reciprocating type;
Rotary type: (1) rotor type; (2) screw type; (3) sliding vane type.
Reciprocating type: (1) piston type; (2) membrane type.
Velocity type: It relies on the action of the gas rotating the impeller at high speed to obtain greater kinetic energy, and then the speed is reduced sharply in the diffuser device to convert the kinetic energy of the gas into potential energy, thereby increasing the gas pressure. The speed type mainly has two basic types: centrifugal type and axial flow type.
Volumetric type: the purpose of increasing the gas pressure is achieved by directly compressing the gas to reduce the volume of the gas. The volumetric type is divided into two types: rotary type and reciprocating type according to the characteristics of the cylinder measuring piston. Most of the air compressors for the oxygen chamber are volumetric.
Rotary type: the piston rotates, and the piston is also called turning dry, the number of rotors is different, and the shape of the cylinder is different. Rotary type includes rotor type, screw type, sliding vane type and so on.
Reciprocating: the piston reciprocates, and the cylinder is cylindrical. Reciprocating type includes piston type and membrane type, among which piston type is the most widely used type at present. The vast majority of air compressors for oxygen chambers are piston-type. The classification, model representation, structural characteristics and working principle of piston air compressors are introduced as follows:
Piston air compressors are generally classified by exhaust pressure, exhaust volume (volume flow), structural type and structural features.
(1) According to the level of exhaust pressure, it is divided into:
• Low-pressure air compressor: exhaust pressure ≤ 1.0MPa
•Medium pressure air compressor: 1.0MPa<exhaust pressure≤10MPa
•High pressure air compressor: 10MPa<exhaust pressure≤100MPa
(2) The exhaust volume is divided into:
•Small air compressor: 1m3/min<displacement ≤10m3/min
•Medium-sized air compressor: 10m3/min<displacement ≤100m3/min
•Large air compressor: Displacement > 100m3/min
•The displacement of the air compressor refers to the free gas flow in the suction state.
• General regulations: Shaft power < 15KW, exhaust pressure ≤ 1.4MPa are miniature air compressors.
(3) According to the relative position between the center line of the cylinder and the ground, it is divided into:
•Vertical air compressor—the center line of the cylinder is arranged vertically to the ground.
• Angled air compressor—the center line of the cylinder forms a certain angle with the ground (V-type, W-type, L-type, etc.).
•Horizontal air compressor – the center line of the cylinder is parallel to the ground, and the cylinder is arranged on one side of the crankshaft.
• For dynamic balance air compressors – the center line of the cylinder is parallel to the ground, and the cylinders are arranged symmetrically on both sides of the crankshaft.
(4) According to the structural characteristics, it is divided into:
• Single-acting – gas is compressed on only one side of the piston.
• Double acting – gas is compressed on both sides of the piston.
•Water-cooled——means that the cylinder has a cooling water jacket and is cooled by water.
•Air-cooled type—radiating fins are cast on the outer surface of the cylinder for air cooling.
• Stationary – the air compressor unit is fixed on the foundation.
•Mobile—the air compressor unit is placed on a mobile device for easy transportation.
•Oil lubrication—refers to the oil injection lubrication in the cylinder and the circulation lubrication of the movement mechanism lubricating oil.
• Oil-free lubrication—means that the cylinder is not lubricated with oil, and the piston and cylinder are dry-running, but the transmission mechanism is lubricated by lubricating oil circulation.
•No oil lubrication—the transmission mechanism in the cylinder has no oil lubrication.
